League: Italian Serie A
Sparta Rotterdam – Vitesse
Pick: Draw

  • Sparta Rotterdam have won three of their last four league games and their last three outings at Het Kasteel.
  • The hosts have also lost just one of their last eight Eredivisie starts (W5, D2).
  • Vitesse are unbeaten in their last eight league matches (W5, D3), but have drawn three of their last five.

Sparta to snatch a point from Vitesse

Sparta Rotterdam have won their last three home games and Henk Fraser’s side look capable of holding Vitesse to a draw at Het Kasteel this Friday evening.

Sparta’s recent successes here have been against bottom half opposition in the shape of RKC Waalwijk (2-0), PEC Zwolle (3-2) and VVV (2-0), though their form was boosted further last time out with a 1-2 victory at seventh placed Groningen.

Those results have put Sparta in the Play-Off mix and after also losing just one of their last eight, they can take a point from this clash against a Vitesse outfit who have drawn three of their last five starts.

The fourth placed visitors are unbeaten in eight (W5, D3) though which is why they can’t be fully opposed, and you can see why the bookmakers are struggling to separate the pair, with both available at odds-against.

We think a draw is the best bet for Friday’s action in Rotterdam and we’re also opting for a 1-1 correct score, as the visitors have netted in all but two of their away trips, while Sparta have bagged seven goals in their last three home matches.
