Stalemate in Drogheda

St Patricks look to bounce back from their first loss of the season last weekend when they travel to Drogheda United on Friday night.

Drogheda have had a reasonable start to the season but sit just outside the Europa League qualifications places. They’ve gone three games unbeaten but had lost the two games before that in what has proven to be a solid but inconsistent start to the season.

St Patricks were unbeaten before their game against Shamrock Rovers last weekend. They lost that encounter 2-1 but Shamrock appear to be running away with the league already so this match will serve as a good test for St Patricks and their ability to recover from that defeat.

This looks as though it could be quite a tight match with both teams looking evenly matched. Both sides have scored more than a goal a game this season as well as conceded less than a goal a game and with six of the last eight games between the sides seeing under 2.5 goals, we think this will be another low scoring affair.
